Kat & Kyle {ENGAGED} – Galveston Engagement Photography, The Strand

Feb 11, 2012 No Comments

Remember that day back in mid November; the ONE day it was a torrential downpour after 8 months of no rain?  Well, THAT’S the day Kyle, Kat and I had scheduled their engagement shoot!  Not to be discouraged by the dreary weather forecast, we headed to The Strand in Galveston, TX anyway (but made sure to bring some rainy day outfits and a couple umbrellas!)  We made it there just in time for the hurricane force winds to blow the doors of the drug store we planned to shoot at closed. Boo!  So what were we to do until the rain let up?  Play scrabble, of course! (Luckily, we came prepared!)

About twenty minutes later, the rain let up and we were able to head to the next location.  There’s a super cute boutique that great signs and we snuck in there long enough to get a quick photo with one.  The Strand worked great in the weather; the oversized eaves of the historic buildings made finding dry shooting areas very easy! The good news is we found an amazing replacement candy store for the fun vintage candy store shots that they wanted!

Some of my favorite photos to date were during this session at the old telephone booth!  Kat and Kyle were both such amazing sports!  Had I had gold stars with me, they totally would have gotten a huge handful!  Not to mention, when you’re as cute as they are, my job gets real easy, real fast.  I can honestly NOT WAIT for their wedding in May…well, I can wait, but I only say that because once their wedding has come and gone, I don’t get to photograph them anymore, and for that, I am sad.  Boo!  Unless I get called back for an Encore session!!  Hope you enjoy all the cuteness in these photos – it’s been an absolute JOY to have these guys as clients. <3  Congrats, Kat & Kyle!!
